About Alison Bullock Aarsten

Alison Bullock Aarsten is Booklet Editor at LAWO Classics. She is British by birth and was educated at Chetham’s School of Music, Cambridge University and at Southampton University, where she wrote a PhD on the music and manuscripts of Guillaume de Machaut. She began her career on the editorial team of The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, before moving to London Symphony Orchestra as Publications manager.

She moved to Norway in 2003 and has since worked in administrative roles in the classical music field, for Concerts Norway (Rikskonsertene), The Norwegian Academy of Music and Barokksolistene, among other organisations.

Alison is also a freelance writer on music and a translator, and has reviewed recordings for Early Music, BBC Radio 3 and International Record Review.
