MAGNE H. DRAAGEN - ORGAN Magne H. Draagen was born in 1974. He completed a degree as church musician at the Norwegian Academy of Music in 1997 and later a diploma for organ as solo instrument at the same institution Prior to his appointment as cantor of the Oslo Cathedral in 2003, Draagen had served in Oslo as cantor at Gamlebyen Church and Holy Trinity Church. He is the permanent  conductor of the Oslo Cathedral Boys Choir, with which he has performed larger works for choir and orchestra and has made a number of recordings. Draagen has also composed church music for different combinations of instruments, including six masses for choir and instruments. As organ soloist he has given a number of concerts in the Oslo Cathedral and performed both at home and abroad, with a repertoire extending from Baroque music to contemporary. The main focus of Draagen’s repertoire has been French symphonic organ music, in particular, works of Widor, Vierne, Saint-Saëns, Tournemire, and Langlais.
